Angel Vee
Hair extensions are a huge trend in 2010, and will definitely still be hot in 2011. Celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Fergie, and Kate Gosselin all had extensions at some point. Why be afraid of applying a certain color, when you can have that look without worrying about damaging your hair or the color not looking right by using clip on hair pieces?

Going to a party, wedding, prom, or just want to add a new look it can be done. You can choose from various colors and it can save you so much time fussing in the morning with your hair. Human hair clips can be worn simple in a ponytail or drastic in an glamorous hairstyle. Here's how.

One Simple Color Ponytail Or Multi-Colors

A ponytail is one of the most popular style choices for most women. Various ways to make them, easy to do, and quick in the morning. Do you have a stubby ponytail where small pieces of hair poke out? Add a few hair extensions. If you have brown hair, you can go with the same color, or add multiple highlights. Make the style more fuller, or cover up split ends.

You will need a rattail comb, claw clip, two to three 6-8 inches wide clip on extensions, two four inches wide pieces for the sides. If you want a fuller ponytail you can also buy a few 2 inches wide pieces to add in-between the middle and sides.

Using the comb section the hair at the bottom, clip the rest up. Open the extension clip. Secure the first clip in the middle. Then close each one on the side. Undo the claw clip and let hair go. Using the comb pull some hair down, then clip up and apply the second extension. Repeat on sides.

Gather all the hair together and place into a ponytail. If the clip ons feel loose remove. Then tease by the roots spray and clip back in.

Create a Rainbow Of Highlights

Wear the top section of hair clipped back. Then starting from the crown section start separating and placing extensions. Follow directions same above, except use different colors. You can buy hair pieces that have 2-3 different shades on them, or use a plain color weft first, then use different shade, followed by another. Your options are endless here.

Not sure you like the color, dye them to desired shade.

Sassy Updo Or Simple Messy Style With Rays Of Color

Regardless of which style you choose, make sure to hide the extensions extremely well. If your going with a messy bun, add the extensions and make sure sure to go with a lower bun, so you won't see the clips at all. Interweave the clip ons in-between each section, and clip up on top of head. Mix and match colors for fun.

Start with a low ponytail. The twist the hair to form around the base of the ponytail. Secure the bun in place, and allow some streaks to stick out, and others to be tucked in place.

Face Frame Of Colors

Maybe you just want to add some ultimate highlights in the front to brighten your face up more, or give more contrast. Add 2 extensions on each side, and maybe a bang piece. By adding a clip on side bang, this will give you a total new look within minutes. Get one with a splash of color, for a more bolder appearance. Price for bang ranges anywhere from $8-30 dollars depending on which retailer you go with.

Hot Single Strands Of Color

For a special occasion or maybe even a football game you might want to add one blue strand, hot pink, or yellow to support your team. Buy a real or fake clip on and just place it in the hair for the day. Usually the placement is on either side.
