Creator's Tears

Kaylee Todd
I had such hope for this blue orb that they would understand in time

To save their home, to right their wrongs, but now I see

They do not understand at all.

Some have seen the signs, the melting ice caps, the growing storms.

They try to tell the others the inconvenient truth, but they will not listen,

They do not believe, they cannot see.

Do they think that I will save their world somehow, that I would not

Have placed them here had maintenance been required?

What lesson is there in that?

I am only God - I just create - I cannot, will not, do this alone,

I had hoped to show them how much power I had bestowed,

That they could keep their world alive alone.

But no, they do not care, not enough to do what must be done now

Before the tipping point is reached and nothing can be done

But wait until the final destruction.

Not by my hands, but by their own.

Have you seen "An Inconvenient Truth", the film about global warming featuring former Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore? These are the words that came to my heart after watching what I could of this frightening film. Is it too late? Watch this film for yourself and, only then, see what words come to your heart and mind.
