Are you looking for some creepy food to add to your late-night Halloween buffet? Here, you'll find foods that only the very brave would try. Really, all the food I describe is delicious, but it looks spooky!

Ghostly Meringues: Whip up a batch of meringue that will freak people out. Just whip egg whites of 3 eggs and as they begin to thicken, gradually add 6 tablespoons of sugar. Whip until stiff, glossy peaks form, then drop onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Make sure that your meringues are tall, so they look like ghosts. Bake in a preheated oven at 200º for about an hour, or until the meringues are starting to turn golden. Leave in the oven for a couple of hours. Add black icing eyes before serving.

Brain Gloop: Make up one package of cherry Jello, following the package instructions. Chop it up and mix with cottage cheese for brains and blood. Serve in small cups.

Evil Eyes: Take 4 hardboiled eggs and peel them. Cut the eggs in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolk. In a separate bowl, you can mash the yolks with a tablespoon of mayonnaise and a dash of paprika. Add ½ teaspoon of Dijon mustard for spice and blend well. Spoon the mixture back into the egg whites and then top with a black olive slice to make the pupil of the eye.

Gobs of Gooey Gopher Guts: Melt 2 cups of butterscotch chips and mix in three cups of chow mien noodles, ¼ cup of peanuts, ½ cup chocolate chips and ¼ cup shredded dry coconut. Drop the mixture in spoonfuls onto a waxed paper sheet and let cool until hard.

Squashed Ladybugs: Melt 4 cups of mini marshmallows in the microwave, along with a stick of margarine. Add a few drops of red food coloring and mix in 3 cups of puffed rice cereal and 2 cups cornflakes. Mix well. When slightly cooler, add 1 cup chocolate chips. Stir and then drop in spoonfuls onto waxed paper and let cool completely.

Marshmallow Ghosts: Take large marshmallows and dip them in white melting chocolate. Add two chocolate chip eyes and another for a mouth and you have delicious little squishy ghosts.

Whip up a batch of Evil Eyes or make trays of each of these yummy, scary snacks and you'll be ready to celebrate Halloween in style!
