Creepy New Tiger Woods' Nike Commercial Features Voice of His Deceased Womanizing Father

Tiger is Sorry, Dad Earl is Mad at Him, Now Go Buy Some Sneakers

How weird is this.... A few days before Tiger Woods' return to professional golf, Nike sporting goods features its serial adulterer poster boy in an ad shown on ESPN and the Golf channel. Tiger is being scolded by his dead womanizing dad, Earl Woods.

In the creepy stark, black and white ad, Tiger Woods stares solemnly at the camera as the voice of his dead father questions the motives behind Tiger's sex scandal. Tiger looks about to cry, as he wears his Nike garb.

The words are said to come from an old 2004 interview with Earl Woods and are an audio mix.

If the Tiger also looks a bit sick and confused; who can blame him. His dad, Earl Woods committed adultery also. Tiger is probably thinking, "Excuse me Dad, didn't you cheat on my mom, and break my heart when I was a kid?"

Check out Memmay Moore's fine article Tiger Woods' Dad Cheated on Tiger's Mom. It seems divorce was not an option for Mr. and Mrs. Earl Woods. Tiger's golf and keeping him focused was their job and it paid well. Protecting the family's squeaky clean image was paramount, and they had an entourage to help them.

Mama Tilda Woods tolerated husband Earl's womanizing. They had that business together; their son, Tiger. She had her houses. Husband Earl had his. Tilda also was reported to know about her son's infidelities much to the displeasure of Tiger's wife, Elin.

Perhaps being dead since May 3, 2006 has diminished Earl's memory and he has forgotten about the fine example of marital fidelity he gave his son. Being dead can do that to you.

What about Nike? What genius came up with this crazy, creepy idea? Did they not know about Daddy Earl's womanizing? He should talk about behavior?

If Nike had read AC's Memmay Moore's article about Earl Woods, they could have avoided this controversy. Just when Tiger seems ready to resume his golf game, he participates in this weirdness.

Should Tiger go back to playing golf? Probably. He is a money maker for the sport, and many jobs depend on him. He sure is an attraction now.

Is he really sorry about his behavior? Who knows....His wife and kids are the ones he has hurt the most. The future of the marriage is up to his wife.

Today, another hoochie sex partner came forth. She is a 21 yr old neighbor of the Tiger. They had sex in his office, near his baby son's crib.

Now go out and buy some Nike sneakers.

Yep, that ad was definitely creepy and in extremely poor taste. Makes me want to avoid Nike at all cost!

Agree on all counts. Considering Tiger's record at having shrewd business sense I have to wonder if Nike didn't force the dude into it. It is singularly icky. :oP

I agree, the commercial is really creepy and disturbing. I find it in poor taste. But Nike got what they wanted, everyone is talking about it.

When I saw this commercial, I had a lot of those same thoughts. I thought it was a lousy idea, too.
