Creme de la Creme: Definitive Top 5 Best Cars on American Streets!

Creme de la Creme Translates to Best of the Best. Such as These Top 5 Definitve Best Cars on US Streets!

Rob Korczak
What does everybody want? Why they want the Crème de la Crème of automobiles. What is the Crème de la Crème of auctomobiles? That's a somewhat subjective question as it means different things to different people.

In this Top 5 list I'm going to talk about the best cars of 2010 that are not only good looking but also fun to drive. Along with the pure enjoyment of driving is reliability and safety of the vehicle.

After all, if you're having too much fun with you car you just might need those safety features. On top of that, when you push down on the break pedal or the accelarator pedal you need to know that the car will respond. Sometimes you need to punch the accelerator in order to avoid and accident.

For example, if you're driving down the highway, obeying the speed limit as I know you do, and suddenly you realize that you've got a tractor trailer on your right and another tractor trailer merging into your lane because he doesn't see you. Well, that's on of those times you need reliability and the knowledge that when you punch that accelerator, the car is going to react exactly the way you expect it to.

Nobody wants to be pancaked between two, gigantic 18-wheelers, that's just the type of mess that nightmares and M. Night Shyamalan movies are made of.

So lets jump straight into the Crème de la Crème of cars available on the US market. Car reliability is the inspiration for this article of the top 5 best and most reliable cars of 2010

All these cars came in very close to each other based on their tests so this list isn't in any particular order. Naturally you can expect more perks with the higher end models but that is to be expected as you're paying a premium.

It should surprise no one that the Honda Accord is on the list. Honda has been scoring very high on customer satisfaction, resale and that is mostly due to the reliability that the Honda Accord offers.

Another offering from Honda would be the Honda Civic as it provides all the safety and reliability that the accord does. Due to the Civic being a less expensive model means that the resale value is not as high as the Accord but if you're primarily concerned about reliability and plan to hold onto the car then the Civic is a great choice.

This next one is going to be out of many peoples price range but the fact remains that Mercedes would end up on this list. Lets face facts, Mercedes makes a quality product. They always have and they always will. A friend of mine owns a Mercedes SLK 26 and he is thrilled with it. If you can afford it, Mercedes is always a safe bet. One warning though, Mercedes is an import and even the most reliable cars will eventually need to have parts replaced. Unless your Mercedes is covered by waranty, you can expect to pay a very premium price for parts. Luckily the reliability of Mercedes will make these expenditures few and far between.

This may surprise you but Hyundai is producing some extremely nice and very reliable cars and SUV's now I've heard good things about the Hyundai Accent but I have personally owned a Hyundai Elantra that I absolutely loved. It had about 233,000 miles on it and going strong. Never really needed any major repairs. Winter or summer, when I turned the key the car would come alive instantly. I would still be driving it except it ended up being totaled by a drunk driver. Luckily nobody was hurt and in my opinion that only adds to it's reliability. I walked away without a scratch so if you're driving a Hyundai you're not only driving a reliable car but your driving a car that can reliably save your life.

I have to say that no list, of this nature, is complete without the mention of Acura. From what I have read, heard from friends and even test driven quite a few I would say that the Acura TL is a really nice entry level luxury car. Reliability is this cars middle name and Acura is definitely a plus if you're a single guy on the prowl.

One, or two, words of advice. Don't take my word for it, or anyone else for that matter. Go out and research as much as you can. Test drive every car that you're interested in and ask lots of questions. Ask your friends, ask strangers, go to automobile BBS message boards and read what people are saying. You'll then be in a good position to make an informed decision about which car is right for you.

Hyundai Elantra drove for over 200,000 miles, reliably served me for years. It also saved me from serious injury when it was hit by a drunk driver. We both were able to walk away from the accident but I didn't even have a scratch.
