Crime and Dectective Writer MIchael Connelly

Michael Connelly was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in July of 1956. He graduated with a bachelor degree in journalism from the University of Florida and went on to write for a couple of newspapers in Florida, before moving on to the Los Angeles Times doing crime reporting.

"The Black Echo" published in 1992, won an Edgar award and was his first crime novel that he published, but he had two more he had written which he finished and published shortly thereafter. That story was based on a real crime and brought forth his "Harry" character which turned into a series of novel about a Los Angeles Cop named Detective Hieronymus (Harry) Bosch; after that he started writing more novels although he continued working for the LA newspaper.

New York Time Best Selling author Michael Connelly was a journalist . One of his books was made into a movie called "Blood Work" which starred Clint Eastwood. He has already written nineteen novels, either by himself or with a collaborator, and also has written innumerable short stories.

A new series written by Michael Connelly is due out in April called "The Blue Religion". The series is about policemen and what they go through, news stories on crime, and how the police chase the crooks. His latest novel called "Suitcase City" is due to be out this year in October.

He also was the President of the Mystery Writer of America for two years He is married livingin Florida with his wife and a new baby.
