If you are a crime drama television fan then you already have your favorite shows set to record on the DVR. Or maybe you are new to the crime drama television and need a little insight into the world of murder, mystery and intrigue. This list will

CBS

"Castle" is a little bit or crime, a lot of drama and a little romance. Writer Richard Castle is following around New York police detective Kate Beckett because he is writing a story about her. But it turns into much more when they have feelings for each other that everyone else knows about but they refuse to tell the other.

"NCIS" teams investigate the deaths and crimes that involve the US Marines. Gibbs and his team could not be more opposite but together they make a great cr ime solving team that can sometimes push what is legal and not so legal.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" is only in its second season but holding its own against the original. At first I was not a fan of the new "NCIS", but once I learned to separate the tow and not compare on to the other, I learned to enjoy NCIS Los Angeles much more. In fact more so that it is now on my must watch TV list.

"Criminal Minds" gives us a look into the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit and how they help local law enforcement agencies on the tough cases. The help the local law enforcement solve serial killers, kidnappings and much more.

"Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" is the newcomer to the CBS crime drama line up. With only two episodes under its belt at this point it has yet prove itself. So far I am unimpressed with this show but I also have yet to separate the original from Suspect Behavior.

"CSI" has had its highs and lows over its seasons. Some of the main characters of the show have left due to career or personal reasons. Sara Sidle has recently returned to CSI and tabloid rumor has it that Gil Grissom will also be returning.

"The Mentalist" is crime drama meets sarcastically funny. Patrick Jane puts a unique spin on things while investigating for the CBI. Although he is only employed as a consultant to the CBI he most often is the one that solves the case.

"Blue Bloods" is about a crime fighting family of cops, detectives, a police commissioner and an attorney. Personally I like the show but my husband has other thoughts about it. I believe it gives us a look into every aspect of law enforcement and gives us intrigue and a desire to watch.
