Four violent crimes are reported in The Brooklyn Paper's Fort Greene Police Blotter this week.

11 crimes are reported for seven days (10/11 to 10/17). The violent crimes are 1/3 of the total crime.

In the last blotter, one half of the crimes (7 of 14) were violent, including a murder.

Warning for the Ladies: Twice now, some creep jumped women from behind, put them in a chokehold and punched them to steal their purses.

The first incident took place on Oct. 9th at Gates and Classon Aves. at 2:40 am. The second attack happened on Oct. 14th on Vanderbilt Ave. between Greene and Gates Aves. at 11:05 p.m.

The Blotter does not state that these crimes were committed by the same thug, but given the MO, it's likely. This creep (s) has crossed the line of humanity with a proven propensity for violence. He could strike anywhere at any time. So, best walk without music, Ladies, and listen for approaching footsteps.

The other violent crimes this week were:

10/12 - Two thugs mugged a man near Chase Bank between Vanderbilt and Clinton avenues at 10:15 am. They claimed to have a gun.

10/12 - A perp brandished a knife to steal a teen's iPod on a train at the Atlantic Ave. station.

10/17 - Five, (5!) masked men with a gun robbed a man in an apartment building lobby on Adelphi Street between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues at 9:45 pm.

The Blotter also highlights a repetitive crime. LIU lockers keep getting looted. Avoid putting valuables in them. Discourage the thieves.

Two crimes this week had hefty hauls. The mugging near Chase was $7,500 and The Greene Grape on Fulton Street got bagged for $2000.

Read all the crimes' details in the Police Blotter.

Stay safe, till next time, Fort Greene and neighbors.

From the skyscrapers of NYC, I face strength. From the people of NYC, I gain understanding. And from the heart of NYC, I feel inspiration. So, I tend to write about the city quite a bit.  View profile
