Cristian De La Fuente Will Keep Dancing

ELS
During his second performance with partner Cheryl Burke on the April 28 episode of Dancing With the Stars, Cristian de la Fuente started to look a little bit odd. Most of de la Fuente's dances throughout the competition have been pretty good. But there was a legitimate reason for his dancing being slightly off. Toward the end of the dance, de la Fuente began to look as though he was in real pain and he was unable to complete the dance.

After the show ended, de la Fuente was immediately rushed to the hospital. Over the 24 hours that followed, de la Fuente learned that he had ruptured a tendon in his left arm that will require surgery. However, Cristian de la Fuente said that his doctor told him the surgery could be delayed if he wants to continue being on Dancing With the Stars. That also depended him receiving enough votes from viewers to continue. And guess what? He did and Shanon Elizabeth was sent home.

One must wonder how much Cristians's injury will limit him in the dances that he that will perform next week? Also, it must be said that even though de la Fuente's Doctor cleared him to continue on the show, he is someone who needs to have surgery on his arm.

That being the case, it could further aggravate the injury and make recovery even more difficult for de la Fuente. If de la Fuente is not able to perform the dances well next week and just ends up getting voted off , it almost feels as though the viewers voted to keep him on out of pity.

That is what happened to Marie Osmond on the last season of Dancing With the Stars, after she fainted during judging. But in Osmond's case, she was not injured so badly that she required surgery.

Shannon Elizabeth may not have been the best on this season of Dancing with the Stars and she was never going to win. With that being said, if de la Fuente is not able to perform at his full level of ability next week , isn't it somewhat unfair that Elizabeth was booted last night and she can perform without worrying about aggravating an injury? This is all just speculation though, so tune in next week to see how it all unfolds.
