Finished Size: 1/3 - 6/9 - 12/18 months (2 - 3/4 years)
To fit foot length: 3 - 3 1/2 - 4 (5) inches
Materials: Small amount of 2 colors worsted weight 4 ply yarn, Size F/5 3.75 MM hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 5 dc = 1 inch
Sole (Make 2)
Chain 15 - 18 - 20 - (25 - 27).
Row 1: Double crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across. Turn.
Row 2: Chain 1, 2 double crochet in same stitch as beginning chain 1, double crochet in each stitch across. Turn.
Row 3: Chain 1, 2 double crochet in same stitch as beginning chain 1, double crochet in each stitch across to the last stitch, work 2 double crochet in the last stitch. Turn. (REPEAT this row 1 time for 6/9 months, 2 times for 12/18 months, or 3 times for 2-3/4 years)
Row 4: Chain 1, double crochet in the same stitch as beginning chain 1. Double crochet in each of the next 4 (7, 9, 14, 16) stitches, single crochet in each of the next 5 (8, 10, 15, 17) stitches, half-double crochet in each of the next 5 (8, 10, 15, 17) stitches, slip stitch in the last stitch. Finish off.
Heel (Work on each sole)
Attach yarn with a slip stitch to first single crochet of instep.
Row 1: Chain 1, single crochet in same stitch as joining and in each of the next 26 (29, 31, 36, 38) stitches around heel to opposite side. Turn.
Row 2: Slip stitch in the first single crochet, single crochet in each stitch around to last single crochet of previous row. Slip stitch in last single crochet. Turn. (Repeat this row 1 time for 6/9 months, 2 times for 12/18 months, or 3 times for 2-3/4 years).
Row 3: Slip stitch in first stitch, single crochet in each of the next 8 (11, 13, 18, 20) stitches, half-double crochet in each of the next 8 (11, 13, 18, 20) stitches, single crochet in each remaining stitch to the last single crochet, slip stitch in the last stitch. Turn.
Row 4: Slip stitch in first 2 single crochet, single crochet in each stitch around to the last 2 single crochet, slip stitch in each of the last 2 single crochet. Finish off.
Edging: Attach contrast color with slip stitch to sole/heel corner. Slip stitch in each stitch across. Finish off.
Toe (Work for each foot)
Attach yarn with slip stitch, 3 stitches inside the heel (3 stitches past heel corner at the sole).
Row 1: Slip stitch in each of the next 2 stitches, single crochet in each stitch around toe to opposite heel, slip stitch in each of the next 3 stitches. Turn.
Row 2: Slip stitch in each of the next 2 stitches. Single crochet in each single crochet across, slip stitch in the first slip stitch of previous row. Turn.
Row 3: Chain 1, single crochet in each of the next 3 stitches, double crochet in each of the next 11 (14, 16, 21, 23) stitches, single crochet in each of the last 3 stitches. Turn.
Row 4: Slip stitch in the first stitch, single crochet in the next stitch, double crochet across to the last 2 stitches. Work single crochet, slip stitch in the last 2 stitches. Turn.
Row 5: Slip stitch in the first stitch, *Skip next stitch, double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat from * across to the last 2 stitches. Skip 1 stitch, slip stitch in last stitch. Turn.
Row 6: Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch across. Finish off.
Edging: Join contrast color with slip stitch to the first slip stitch in row 1. Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch and slip stitch across. Finish off.
Ties (Optional - repeat for each foot)
Attach contrast color to the bottom edge of toe (where it overlaps the heel and connects to the sole). Chain 50. Leave several inches tail to weave back down the length of chain. Finish off. Repeat on opposite side of shoe.

- Try using a contrast color for the sole as well as edging.
- If you crochet very tightly, go up 1 size hook.

Post a CommentI have tried and tried to crochet this pattern but am unable to get the correct stitch count. I have followed the pattern to the letter and it seems to be missing something. The stitch count always comes up 2-4 stitches short. Please tell me that there is a misprint or corrections to be made because these are the cutest baby slippers! Thank-you.
