HUNGARIAN GOULASH
2 lb. beef stew meat (cut in cubes)
1 large onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 c. ketchup
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. brown sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 c. water
1/4 c. flour
Place meat in crock pot; cover with onion. Combine garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, salt, paprika and dry mustard in a small bowl; stir in water. Pour over meat. Cover and cook on low for 9 to 10 hours. Turn control to high. Dissolve flour in a small amount of cold water; stir into meat mixture. Cook on high 10-15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve goulash over cooked noodles or rice.
CROCK POT HAMBURGER SOUP
1 lb. hamburger
1/2 T. pepper
3 c. water
3 carrots (sliced)
1 stalk celery (diced)
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 small onions
1 (10 oz) pkg. mixed vegetables
1 1/2 c. tomatoes
Brown hamburger; add remaining ingredients in crock pot and cook on low 8 hours.
HAMBURGER CHEESE DIP
1 lb. hamburger (browned and drained)
1 can Hormel chili (without the beans)
1 jar of salsa
1 lb. Velveeta cheese
Combine and cook until cheese melts in crock pot. Serve with corn chips.
MOCK PRIME RIB
2-3 lbs. rolled rump roast
1 can Swanson's beef broth
1 pkg. Schillings au jus mix
1 pkg. Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
Place roast in large crock pot. Mix the 3 ingredients and pour over roast. Cook on low setting 8 to 10 hours. Potatoes and carrots may be adding during the last 3 hours. To serve, remove roast and slice to 1/2 inch thickness. Serve broth as au jus or thicken with a small amount of cornstarch and use as gravy.
GONE ALL DAY CASSEROLE
1 c. uncooked wild rice
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped carrots
2 (4 oz) cans mushrooms, drained
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 c. slivered almonds
3 beef bouillon cubes
2 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
2 lb. boneless round steak, cut into 1" cubes
3 c. water
Place ingredients in order in slow cooker. Do not stir. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or until rice is tender. Stir before serving.
