Cross Body Bags for the Average Shopper, Man or Woman

Cross body bags, whether they be for men or women, offer a degree of security that carrying a bag on the shoulder does not, so it is no small wonder that more and more celebrities are carrying their handbags across the body. Here are three contrasting styles for anyone.

If you have a Dillard's store nearby, I would highly recommend going and checking out the Isabella bag from Fossil. This cross body bag has a wonderful texture. My wife is a huge fan of all things delicate, and when I purchased her this handbag she was delighted. I only saw a red one in my local store, and that is all that is listed online. The Fossil Isabella bag is $78 and would be best worn across the chest area with the detail work of the front pocket balancing softly on the front of the hip.

At luggage pros.com, you can pick up the David King Three Zip Cross Body Bag. This bag is highly understated and immediately brings to mind classic looks of the 1950s and early 1960s. The bag is not highly ornamented, which is especially nice. It is made of durable leather and only costs $29. Quite a bargain considering the one year warranty it comes with. This bag can cross and fall as it will, as there are few details to present.

The great thing about many cross body bags is that they can be gender neutral. The AmeriBag from Manhattan is a $56 twill bag that can be worn by either sex. While I know a few men would never carry a "man-bag," this bag has more of a messenger style. It is well-suited for holding small portable devices without having to carry a bulky laptop bag. A woman could use it in a similar fashion or as a regular purse, though the olive drab and black colors it is available in do not quite scream femininity.

The cross body bag can be utilized as a classic handbag or as a carry-all. Depending on the particular bag purchased, a woman could look industrial or chic. A man could opt for a more conservative style and wear it as a more compact version of the classic messenger bag. In a world of ever smaller media devices, the cross-body bag can be a god-send!
