Across the nightly air waves
Kathy Mattea softly sings,
a song about a lonesome Texas girl
looking for her wings.
Kathy Mattea softly sings,
a song about a lonesome Texas girl
looking for her wings.
In my mind, I can see me
I'm facing my first cross road
wondering where I am going
and what my future holds.
It takes me only a moment
too realize that I'm finally here.
I am really living my own dream
doing all the things I dare.
It's strange, but still so true
how "a song remembers when"
and transports me to the place
where my future once began.
