Crossair Airlines Review

Jack Woods
In June 2002, I was traveling back and forth from Zurich to Amsterdam. The actual flight was from New Delhi on the Swiss International Airline, but since their twin airline flies shorter routes within Europe, I was automatically shifted to the Crossair Airlines. The plane used was Jumbolino.

The Crossair Airlines offered me a connecting flight from Zurich, and the time between the flights was too short, almost one hour on the way there, and one and half on the way back. My flight from New Delhi to Zurich was delayed by half an hour, so I had to rush to catch the next flight. The airport at Zurich was huge. I could have gotten lost easily, but electronic signs like flash screens were put up everywhere which were full of boarding information, so that I didn't. The check-in was smooth and quick. On the Crossair Airlines I was welcomed by the boarding attendants with smiling faces. On the return flight even, the check-in was uneventful with nothing much to report, except that the Crossair Airlines did not ask about your seating preference. The departure was delayed by half an hour at the returning flight. However, once after the takeoff, there weren't many complains.

While in flight with the Crossair Airlines, I was satisfied with their overall service. Both ways were carried out via the shortest available route, and we were quick to reach our destinations. Immediately after the take off, the attendants started serving us beverages, and asking us about our preferences. These were accompanied by sandwiches. The food of the Crossair Airlines airlines was not very special. It tasted just the usual. After we were done with our short snack, we were offered sweets and chocolates. Till the time we ended with the eating, we were almost half way or more through our journey! You can also see windmills from the height, but being able to see these probably isn't a Crossair Airlines specialty. It's just in the way.

The Crossair Airlines plane has a 2x2x2 seating, and the same setting is used in the business class as well. The only difference was probably that they were at the front of the plane with curtains in between the two sections. Other than this, the plane was well kept, with adequate cooling. The attendants of the Crossair Airlines flight were efficient, but they were not very satisfied, and had no smiles. They were merely doing their job. For the return flight, the pilots came on the intercom saying that they will make up for the lost half hour, and actually remained true to their words!

At the touchdown of the plane on the return flight, there was a round of applause for the crew in flight. This was a new experience for me. Overall, the Crossair Airlines airlines provided a nice atmosphere, with comfortable seats and leg comforters, and had a competent staff to look after the customers' requests and the flight proceedings.
