The SuperTuck is a hybrid of Kydex and Leather (your choice of black or natural tan, cowhide or horsehide).
Kydex is a hard plastic material which, in this application, is molded to fit the form of the the handgun it was made for. This means that each holster is specifically made for one model of handgun. A Glock 26 will not fit in a holster made for a Kahr P9, for example.
The portion of the holster which will ride against the wearer's body is a single piece of durable, comfortable leather. The leather portion is cut very generously. This is what makes the SuperTuck so comfortable. The pressure of the holster against the body is distributed over a large area, so no particular pressure points are felt.
The holster stays put using two steel clips which go over the wearer's belt. Crossbreed has responded to customer complaints about the weakness of previous clip design, and has improved the strength in the latest models. Other clip designs are available for deeper levels of concealment.
The belt clips can be independently moved up or down in any of four holes on the leather backing; the ride height and cant are fully adjustable on the Super Tuck-an option not often found on IWB holsters.
The price point of the Cross Breed Super Tuck is low in comparison with other quality IWB holsters. Quality concealed carry holsters start at $60.00USD, and are well worth the investment. A poor holster can endanger its wearer, and let everyone know that he or she is carrying. Neither of these are acceptable when carrying a concealed handgun.
The Super Tuck is so named because of its ability to allow the user to tuck in a shirt. The belt clips are mounted on the leather well below the belt line. The hem of a shirt slips easily in between the back of the clips, and the Kydex portion of the holster. Shirts will have to be "bloused" out in order to hide a bulge, but this is to be expected when concealing a handgun under a tucked-in shirt.
The Cross Breed Super Tuck achieves its comfort claim. The generous cut of the leather does not pinch or chafe the wearer like some other holsters. The belt clips securely hold the holster in a position that is fully customizable to the wearer. After an initial break-in period of a day, the holster takes the shape of the wearer's body.
Retention is also customizable by the wearer. Each user has a different preference for the amount of force required to remove a handgun from its holster. SuperTuck holsters come from the manufacturer with a medium level of retention. Instructions are included for increasing or lowering the level of retention by modifying the Kydex sheath with the heat from a hair dryer.
The Crossbreed SuperTuck offers comfort, quality, reliability and customizable options for an affordable price. It should definitely be a consideration for anyone looking for a stable, customizable and comfortable platform for their handgun.
