Crossroads

Tussy
Have you ever felt like you are in a crises simply because you know not which one to take among the many avenues which seems open for you, now that a chapter in your life has been closed?

I have an occasion to feel exactly that recently when I heard that my temporary appointment has not been renewed by the government agency I used to work for. I heard it over the airwaves. No formal letter inform me of such. Maybe it is the novel way of getting rid of non conforming civil servant, or that particular agency's way of thanking those who do their darndest best to serve despite pressures from the high and mighty. Maybe the letter informing me, using election matter envelop, got lost in the mail! I really do not know nor do I intend to know coz, frankly, I dont care nor do I give a hoot. Get the picture?

Come to think of it, I am hardly sorry of the recent turn of events. Leaving the said agency is not a loss but a gain. Why? I'd rather not elaborate on that. I just felt it is crisis like not knowing whether to engage in the practice of law, to return to teaching full time or to devote my time to a small business venture I engage in and become a full time entrepreneur. All I know is, now that I no longer have to fill up a Daily Time Record, at a specified time, Monday to Friday, nor join the hurry of the eight to five crowd, I have more time to be me! Which means I can leave the house without having to put on a face, read as put on make up! I can read when I want to, without having to pretend am working, so as not to lose the respect of subordinates or, worst, incur the wrath of the boss. For now, am a free agent and I intend to enjoy it as long as I can as best as I can.

Come to think of it, am having the time of my life! If this is what is meant to be on a crossroad, then I don't regret being here...
