Crossroads Hospice in Kansas City Really Cares

Gone but Not Forgotten

Lee Hansen
I appreciate the services that hospice offers to many terminally ill patients and their families. All too often after the loss of a loved one has occurred, the remaining family members are forgotten. The attitude from others comes across as if they are saying, "Get over it". How very insensitive.

Ever since my mother-in-law passed away last year, the staff at Crossroads Hospice has done an excellent job in following up with us by calling us, sending cards and offering words of encouragement and support.

The other day we received an invitation for a Memorial Picnic. As a guest, family members who have lost loved ones are given a chance to celebrate the life of their dearly departed.

There is an option to attend one of these picnics based upon your choice and/or geographical location. In case of bad weather they have an alternate indoor facility that will be made available for the picnic. To find the dates and location go to www.crossroadshospice.com . More information about this event can be obtained by calling 816-268-2679 by May 5, 20111.

The registration will begin at 5:30 p.m and the picnic will start at 6:00. And at 7:00 there will be a biodegradable balloon launch that will commemorate your loved one.

The Crossroad Hospice of Kansas City has two locations: South Office: 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 300, Kansas City, MO 64114 and the North Office: 2900 NE 60th St, Suite 150, Gladstone, MO 64119.

This gesture of care and compassion will go a long way in bringing an extra measure of comfort and support when it seems you have all but been forgotten.

If you're in need of a great support system, I would highly recommend the services of Kansas City Crossroads Hospice.
