Crossroads: Is There a Way to Go Around Them?
Are There Crossroads that Do Not Necessarily Burden Your Heart?
There are so many incidents in my life where I need to choose. Come to think of it, it might just as well be everyday that I meet crossroads. Well, who doesn't?
Oftentimes, we meet those major crossroads; those times when you also get a major headache in the process of choosing.
Significant crossroad #1 What is my ambition in life?
Choices? I have several.
* a teacher
* a writer
* a nun
* a doctor
* etc.
Daunting, is it not? Well, I cannot seem to decide which one is closest to my heart for a very long time. Each choice is closest to my heart or so I thought. And I cannot seem to comprehend why I only have to choose one. Along the way, I wish somebody else will decide for me. Somebody like an angel or Jesus Christ or the Divine Holy Spirit.
I cannot remember who helped me decide which one to choose because 20 or more years after this crossroad I graduated medicine but did not follow through.
Significant crossroad #2 To Enter In The Realm of Love and Loving Or Not
It has taken me 30 years before I officially got a boyfriend. I told myself that it was the best thing to do at my age. That is also how I reconciled my feelings with my thoughts. Funny but I thought I have chosen correctly. Well, how can I be wrong when my sense of belongingness was strongly resonating with this one guy.
That was the one correct choice I have ever made so far or so I thought.
But after a year or so I found myself crying uncontrollably. Broken-hearted. Betrayed. But still hopeful. Amazingly crazy. My heart does know how to give up.
All people, things and animals around me seems to communicate how wrong the relationship was. What bothered me most is that why do I feel otherwise? The big question why is really bothering me.
So I just let it be.
Significant crossroad #3 A Real Beautiful Life or a Pretension
Finally, I recognize the wonder of being able to choose to live a beautiful life. No matter what we are now, no matter what situation we are place into, we deserve a beautiful life. I realized it is not commendable to pretend to be strong. We must be strong, should we not?
Crossroads in life are meant to make life more beautiful than it is. I believe everything happens for a reason.
Every good and beautiful gift is a gift from God. His reason of our experiences is to bring us more blessings and abundance. To choose to see the wonder as well as the shower of jewels coming from every living thing around us is a choice in itself.
To never give in to failure. To keep our sanity in check. To be better than we are a minute ago. This is the purpose of our life in the shadow of God's grace.
He is the source of divine love and goodness. And we are His reflections. Let us continue being His loving children. In so saying, I guess I have decided to live a beautiful life no matter what happens.
I hope that you will choose the same thing, too.
Cheers!

Post a CommentJesus, the Holy Spirit can lead you to the road or the crossroad, they can even protect you as you cross the road BUT it is free will that will be the driving force that chooses to cross the road or not. People pray for things all of the time: a new home or a new love I simply pray, "Lord, Your Will (not mine) be done." In the end, each and every crossroad, even when we choose wrongly, will lead us safely to the next destination, so long as we are praying that prayer. I do not believe that God would ever allow any of His children to not get across the road safely. Remember that. Cheers :)
