Fans started gathering as early as 8:00 am. this morning in anticipation of the Super Bowl Champions return to New Orleans. Fans are bringing lawn chairs and food, having a "mini-tailgate" while waiting for the Saints.
Security at the airport will be handled by the Kenner Police Department, who are doubling the number of officers at the airport for the Saints arrival today. Normally 18 officers are on duty at the airport when the Saints arrive back from away games. Today the number will be increased to 40. Barricades are already being put into place by Kenner Police Department as fans continue to arrive and set up spots in order to greet the Saints.
One thing is for certain, the party will continue tonight in New Orleans to celebrate the 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. This will be the largest celebration during Mardi Gras in the history of New Orleans.
The popular saying, "Who Dat" is now being replaced with "We Dat" among locals. And for some reason I'm not hearing any more of "The Aints" which is a good thing, because we are now the champions!
The Saints will also be honored on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in a special parade in their honor at 5:00 pm Central Standard Time. The parade starts in front of the Superdome on Poydras Street. The parade route will go down Poydras to Loyola, then to Howard Avenue to Lee's Circle. The route then goes down St. Charles Avenue to Canal Street, and back over to Tchoupitoulas Street and ending at Convention Center Blvd.

Good reporting on this.
I dare to say they will probably be celebrating right through Fat Tuesday.
