Lupe Fiasco and B.o.B put on a great show for a crowd that lacked knowledge of their music compared to a concert filled with fans who pay upwards of $30 for a ticket and are there to support the artists and hip hop music in general.
B.o.B performed like his album is going to drop in a weeks time, which it is. The Adventures of Bobby Ray will be released on Tuesday, April 27th. B.o.B involved the crowd as much as possible and put together an exciting and versatile show as he grabbed several different guitars during his performance. B.o.B's Satellite had the entire audience hold up cell phones and lighters while the lights were dimmed. B.o.B also performed "Nothin on you" and "I'll be in the Sky."
Lupe made a smart move during the beginning of his set as he felt the energy in the crowd just wasn't right. "What makes you think I'm gonna have fun if you're not having fun" Lupe said to the crowd as he stopped halfway through his third song. Lupe started the whole concert over and had awoken the crowd. The move proved to be beneficial as their was a much greater response to the rest of the show. Lupe performed all of his hits including; "Superstar", "Paris, Tokyo", "Kick Push", and "Daydreamin." Lupe said at the end of the show that his new CD was finished but he still is unsure of the release date.

Post a CommentAs much as I LOVE to be lectured about my level of enthusiasm, Lupe's comments and restart of the concert was off-putting in my opinion.
LUPE...The crowd wasn't that into your show at first because you were outshined by B.O.B. Not to mention your sound wasn't as good (louder does not equal better). And it might help to start your show with some crowd fav's (rather than playing 3 songs in a row that no one knows). I saw Lupe at Lolla and his performance back then was incredible (back flips, anyone?) Plus how cool would it be to have Lupe on a skateboard or have some background skaters on a half or 1/4 pipe?
I do have to give him some props, tho, bringing Mrs Fiasco, Lupe's dirty little mistress, and Lupe convert up on stage for the show was pretty freakin coo, tho.
Interesting... I have a couple of Lupe CDs, and really respect his lyrical abilities.
