Crowfield joins the roster with Saving Abel (Virgin), Taddy Porter (Primary Wave Records/EMI), Volbeat (Universal Germany), and Brent James and the Contraband.
After years of playing in and around Charleston, Crowfield's first single "Moving On" will hit airwaves nationally through Universal / Republic Records in September 2010 but will debut locally on Charleston's The Bridge 105.5 in August 2010.
Their debut album will be out later this year.
"We're so thrilled to be a part of the Universal Records and Primary Wave families. It's refreshing to find people in the music business who share our passion and our urgency to get our music in front of as many people as possible." We've always maintained the idea that music listeners are smarter than most musicians give them credit for. They can sense when music is contrived. So, we've made it paramount for our performances and songs to be honest and emotional. The songs come from real places, real experiences. People see that. It gives them something real to latch on to and keeps them coming back," said Tyler Mechem, lead singer of Crowfield.
On August 11th Crowfield will be opening for the band that blazed the trail for the South Carolina music scene, Hootie & The Blowfish.
For the past nine years, Hootie & The Blowfish have held this annual summer concert event to help collect school supplies for children in need.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring school supplies to the concert for donation.
The show will be at Family Circle Magazine Stadium in Daniel Island, South Carolina.
Crowfield was formed in Charleston, SC in 2005 and consists of Tyler Mechem (vocals/guitar), Joe Giant (piano/organ/keys/vocals), Parker Gins (drums), and Micah Nichols (guitar/vocals).
