Crown Royal - The Whiskey of Choice for New Year's Parties

Robert Whitis
New Years is a huge celebratory holiday that people pull out all the stops for. For many whiskey lovers, Crown Royal is the creme de la creme. Please note that "crown" tastes great to me the way it comes out of the bottle, so some of these suggestions may not be for you. However, others are quite tasty and the female party go-ers will definitely rave over them.

The Washington Apple

This drink will be a big hit with the ladies, and will definitely help you catch up fast if you're behind on the drinking on New Year's. The shopping list for this drink is Sour Apple Pucker, Cranberry Juice (not cocktail), and of course, Crown Royal. For the right taste, you want to mix 1 part crown, 1 part sour apple pucker, and 1.5 part cranberry juice. Make sure you mix this drink in a tumbler, or pour the liquors at the same time. This drink is going to have a sweet fruity taste, will go down smooth, and packs a punch.

Just a Twist of Lime

For lovers of Crown Royal, this drink might be right up your alley. This recipe will bring out the taste of crown, and take the edge off just enough to allow speedy consumption. Mix 1 part crown, half part creme soda, and finish the drink off with the juice from one lime wedge. Make sure you squeeze the lime juice into the drink as it plays an integral part in the taste. You might smack your lips a few times are taking a swig, but you'll definitely be in party mode in no time flat.

Droppin' Bombs

For my final drink recommendation is a great ball drop tradition. This drink will make sure that the party doesn't end at midnight. Mix 1 part crown and 1 part peach schnapps. Now, fill a small shot glass with Red Bull energy drink. If you have plastic shot cups, these will work best. In the case of having plastic cups, drop the shot of red bull right into the drink still in the plastic cups, and tell your guests bottoms up at midnight. Characteristic of a "jager bomb" only more light hearted, this drink will give your guests that extra boost to keep them going, and keep them coming back for more.

I hope my Crown Royal recipes work out well for you this holiday season, and I hope you're able to personally enjoy these personal favorites of mine. Happy New Year!
