Cruel Punishments for Your Teenage Tear Aways

Punishments Your Teenagers Will Hate

JR
Having four teenage girls in my life is hard work. It's even harder when they misbehave. Below are some 'Cruel' punishments to try out on your teenage tear aways. They are quite cruel, and sitting down and talking with your teenager is probably the best sollution, but using some of the ideas below might actually work on your unruley teens. Grounding teenagers to their bedrooms is a luxury to a teenager.

: Try taking away your teeagers cell phone for a week. They will hate this.

: Take away internet access for a week (or even longer).

: Remove x-boxs, play stations, i-pods,music centre, televisions from bedrooms.

: Ban girlfriends/boyfriends from coming around to the house.

: Take away money from your teenagers. Teenage girls will hate this, especially if they are going shopping with their friends.

: Ban incoming calls to them. Tell their freinds '" they cannot come to the phone right now".

: Refuse to give them a lift by car. Make them walk. Also if they drive, ban the car.

: Make them do more chores, especially the messy ones.

: Ban all electrical goods. No hairdyers, hair staightners etc.

: Remove hinges and take off their bedroom door. Yes sounds drastic, but they definitaley do not like it.

: If all else fails send to Bootcamp.

These punishments can work on some teenagers. The best way to sort out any problem is to talk. Sit down with your teen and talk about their behavior. Try asking them 'what punishment they should' receive.

You people are crazy and for the teen that said just talk to me bullcrap!!!! If it were that easy, don't you think as parents that is what we would be doing? I try talking first and if that does not work then their are consequences just like in real life. You think if you break the law the cop is going to just talk to you ummmm no!!! Do you think at work if you keep messing up your boss is just going to talk to you ummmm no. Do you think at school if you keep messing around in class not listening your teacher is going to keep talking to you that would be no. My job as a parent is to prepare you for real life and real life does not keep talking to you over and over at some point their in a consequence like it or not!!!

I'm a teen and all of these things are so child-like. If my parents tried to do this to me I would probably start laughing. Why don't you just talk to them like any other adult?

I think we tried all of these at one time or the other. I worried that they wouldn't survive their teen years but both have grown up to be very responsible, kind, and considerate adults. So I guess the constant talking worked even if we didn't see it right away.

We've done nearly everything on your list and talking to teens, as you noted, is so important, even when it seems like they might not listen.
