BWC (Beauty Without Cruelty) Hair Spray helps conscious consumers style their hair while feeling good about their product choice.
BWC was founded in England in 1961. The company goal was to manufacture and distribute natural, color cosmetics that were not tested on animals and that did not contain any animal ingredients. BWC was introduced in the United States in 1989. Today the company sells cruelty-free, vegetarian skin, body and hair care products; as well as a full line of color cosmetics. According to the BWC website, the company's mission is to provide, "ethical, cruelty-free products that are made with natural, organic, and safe ingredients, are superior in performance, and are an exceptional value."

Beauty Without Cruelty's Natural Hold Hair Spray sells for $7.95 on the BWC site. The hairspray is also available from natural food retailers and from other online retailers such as:
www.amazon.com (for $5.60)
www.drugstore.com (for ($7.99)
www.veganessentials (for $7.95)
www.veganstore.com (for $7.95)

The hairspray comes in a recyclable, 8.5 oz (250 ml), non-aerosol, spray-pump bottle. I've used BWC Natural Hold Hairspray for more than two years and only experienced one spray-pump nozzle clog. When it happened I rinsed and flushed the spray pump with warm water, dried it and it worked fine. The spray pump comes covered with an easy-to-remove plastic cap. I keep the cap on the pump when not in use.
Like all BWC products, the hairspray is 100 percent vegetarian and never tested on animals. Consumers concerned about parabens (chemical preservatives) in cosmetics might be glad to know BWC Hair Spray is paraben free.
The spray pump dispenses the fragrance-free hairspray in a fine mist. The mist settles on hair invisibly and dries quickly. As its name suggests, the hairspray provides a very natural looking hold that lasts for several hours. The product's botanical formulation also includes pro-vitamin B-5 which conditions and protects hair, leaving it supple and shiny.
According to its ingredient list, BWC Natural Hold Hairspray contains:
SD alcohol 40 (distilled from plants), botanical extracts of lavender, ginseng, cucumber and rosemary, butyl ester of pvm/ma copolymer (thickener and hair fixative), panthenol (vitamin B factor), soy protein, sodium pca (natural moisturizer), vitamin E (natural d-alpha tocopherol), dimethicone copolyol (from natural silica).
If you're looking for a hairspray that performs well, and that was produced without harming animals, Beauty Without Cruelty Natural Hold Hair Spray is a good value.
