Crunchyroll Website Review

Matt Remley
Crunchyroll is one of the Internet's leading websites offering streaming anime and is continually getting much better. Daily updates and overall website revamps, Crunchyroll brings in hordes of anime fans everyday for the newest anime episodes straight from Japan.

That's not all there is to Crunchyroll, as they also offer episodes of Live Action Asian movies and television shows. Users from all over the world submit a good amount of the Crunchyroll content. Does Crunchyroll have what it takes to survive alongside websites like Youtube?

Design

One must admit that the workmanship put into this site is great. It's extremely easy to find which anime or live action episodes you're looking for. Other content on the site is very easy to find as well, with related links or popular videos posted on the side of the page.

Features

Aside from almost monthly contests hosted by the owners of the website, Crunchyroll goes a long way to keep users coming back. Users can join chats, create and join groups, or casually discuss things on the sites forum.

Out of the main features of the website the streaming anime is obviously hook and sink for Crunchyroll and a number of its fan base visit the site just for that. Did you know that most of the streaming anime on this site are straight from Japan and aren't even in English yet?

That's right, most of the streaming anime on Crunchyroll have been subtitled by fans and uploaded for others to enjoy. Thing is, when a North American publisher licenses an anime for distribution, Crunchyroll takes that anime off the website.

Although lately Crunchyroll and its owners have been striking deals with big name companies in order to provide users with authorized episodes. Another big thing going on for Crunchyroll is the paid membership program, which for a few bucks offers users anime episodes before the rest of the site.

As mentioned before anime isn't the only thing that Crunchyroll offers. This website also offers mini-games, and user submitted video game content. If that doesn't float your boat maybe the Cars or Music section will.

Overall, Crunchyroll gets a perfect five out of five for being the ultimate stop for anime fans all over the world to come together for the love of their art. If you have time, check out Crunchyroll and its many features as this site is truly up and coming.

Final Score

5/5 - Perfect - (5 Being Perfect, 1 Being Horrible.)

What can I say???? The ultimate in game reviews! You should contract yourself out to write these for the company itself!

You posed an interesting question. "Does crunchyroll survive along the lines of youtube?" Well, if this thing becomes a hit sensation - they will be bought by Google. GOOG bought youtube, you know. If not, it will be back to the drawing board. Tech is so competitive.
