Cryptozoic Entertainment and Penny Arcade to Transform Lookouts into an RPG Board Game and Digital Game

According to the press release by Cryptozoic Entertainment:
"As a longtime fan of Penny Arcade, I was amazed but not surprised by how compelling the Lookouts concept was" says Cory Jones, president and CCO of Cryptozoic Entertainment. "I have known Jerry and Mike for a number years and immediately reached out to Mike when I saw the comic to let him know how awesome I thought it was. I couldn't be happier to have the chance to work with such a cool property and partner with the guys at Penny Arcade on the Lookouts. We have some amazing products planned and look forward to a long relationship with the Penny Arcade team."
The Lookouts digital comic will be an extension of the setting that fans know and love. Follow along as the Lookouts go on adventures, learning the ways of the Eyrewood forest and how to live alongside it. With the Lookouts Board Game, players can customize their own Lookouts character and experience the magic as they and their friends navigate the forest and face its challenges. Each player will gain abilities and skills based on the merit badges they earn, becoming more powerful as they cross difficult terrain, face menacing creatures and encounter other hardships. The game will be a hybrid role playing and board game experience.
"I think we always understood that Lookouts was a little bit bigger than we could handle by ourselves," said Penny Arcade's Jerry Holkins. "It was a tremendous relief to be contacted by people who really, really know what they're doing."
Lookouts will be releasing in the fall of 2011.
