Crystal Bowersox Best American Idol Performance of the Night

After being hospitalized overnight for diabetes related complications, Crystal Bowersox delivered the best performance of night singing "As Long As I Can See The Light" accompanying herself on the guitar. All four judges were unanimous in saying it was an outstanding performance and that she is one of the best singers in the competition. Crystal's illness forced Idol producers to make a last-minute change in scheduling moving the top 10 guys performances to Tuesday night when the girls were scheduled to perform which moved the top 10 girls to Wednesday.

the night seemed to be another off night for many of the girls with a few exceptions. Michelle Delamor received positive comments from the judges after her performance of Creed's "Arms Wide Open." Lilly Scott received rave reviews after performing "A Change is Gonna Come" with Randy calling it his favorite performance of the night and Kara saying that it was riveting. Katelyn Epperly changed it up and slowed it down a bit tonight singing Coldplay's "The Scientist" and playing the piano. Siobhan Magnus took a risk performing the Aretha Franklin classic, "Think." Randy and Ellen loved it, but Simon and Kara weren't quite as impressed. However, they were all amazed at how well she hit the last memorable note.

The others did not fare as well. Sixteen-year-old Haeley Vaughn took the judges advice about singing a song by a performer closer to her age and performed Miley Cyrus's "The Climb." Randy called it excruciating, and Simon called it a "complete and utter mess." Lacey Brown performed "Kiss Me" and was told it sounded like karaoke, but was marginally better than last week. Katie Stevens, another one of the youngest contestants, also took the judges advice about finding a younger song and performed "Put Your Records On" and was told she still needs figure out who she really is. Didi Benami and Paige Miles, two singers with great voices, also delivered mediocre performances tonight.

Tune in tomorrow night at 8:00 PM EST on FOX to find out live which guys and girls will be going home.
