American Idol Performance on April 6th, 2010

Crystal Bowersox performed "Come Together" on the April 6thAmerican Idol show. The April 6thAmerican Idol show featured the British Invasion. Performers selected songs from singer/songwriters Paul McCartney and John Lennon specifically, instead of just songs from the Beatles.

Crystal Bowersox has been my favorite singer since I first saw her during Hollywood week. Crystal has a natural raw talent that shows when she really loves the song she's singing. Unfortunately for Crystal she is locked into one genre of music. She is excellent at it, but Crystal may have some problems with future performances if she can't adjust to different music styles.

Crystal Bowersox's "Come Together" Performance: The Nitty-Gritty

I love Crystal Bowersox's bohemian look and wondered how she would fit this in with the American Idol British Invasion theme. The transition was flawless when she walked out onto the stage with high heel boots, jeans, and layered tanks.

Crystal Bowersox had musical accompanied on stage for "Come Together." Ernie Fields Jr. joined her by playing the didgeridoo. The sound coincided perfectly with the bluesy spin on Crystal's song.

Crystal said that she picked "Come Together" because it has a fun groove and proved that she could have fun singing. She smiled more throughout her performance.

What the Judges Said about Crystal Bowersox's "Come Together" Performance

Randy Jackson: Said that Crystal had a solid performance, but he wasn't sure if it was her best. He did add that it worked, and Crystal was in the zone.

Ellen DeGeneres: Thought Crystal's performance was cool. The only thing that Ellen is worried about is a new way to tell Crystal how great she is.

Kara DioGuardi: Said that Crystal's performance of "Come Together" was one of her favorites of the night because it was slinky, sexy, and playful.

Simon Cowell: Said that he could her Crystal's version of "Come Together" on the radio. Her performance just worked, and she made the song contemporary.

What the fans Say about Crystal Bowersox's "Come Together" Performance

Kim Keason (Me): I loved Crystal Bowersox's version of "Come Together" much better than the original. She showed off her awesome vocal range and had fun with the song. At the beginning Crystal said that her motto is "Stay true to yourself." She has proven that she lives by this motto.

Jason Keason, 7 years old: What's in her hair? I had to explain how they do dreadlocks and his reply was "ewwww." I think the dreadlocks are better than the alternative, a shaved head. So Crystal, keep the dreads and keep on singing.

Kevin Keason, 5 years old: I liked it. That's all he said and he ran from the room and returned with his guitar. I think Crystal's performance may have inspired a new American Idol contestant.

Both boys danced to Crystal's version of "Come Together." So I would definitely give it three thumbs up. She did a great job.

I love her :) Wasn't that "didigerdoo" thing-a-ma-jig the coolest instrument? Loved it. Leave it to Crystal to pull out all the bizarre tricks :) Cheers!

The kids were on spring break this week and this is the first chance they got to watch AI. That's why I wanted to get their opinions:)

I love this review! My kids are in bed when it comes on so they don't get to watch. Especially this week with PSSA testing they need their sleep ;) I must disagree that Crystal performance was better than the original. The original was hot but Aerosmith did a damn fine cover and Crystal's is just that, a dang fine cover. I'd listen to anything she puts out. I'm impressed by her. It's taken AI 10 seasons but this one may be the one to keep me watching!
