Lee DeWyze is 23 years old and is from Mount Prospect, Ill. He quips that he no longer has a job or an apartment. That shouldn't be a problem as I have a feeling he's on the brink of making more money that he's ever dreamed possible. Lee comes off as a down-to-earth guy. He admits that he had been over-thinking his song choices and deliveries on American Idol. Now his goal is to be himself and enjoy the experience. That was obvious on Tuesday, March 30th when he delivered his best performance to date singing "Treat her Like a Lady." Simon Cowell told him that those couple minutes probably changed his life forever. I think he's right. Lee says that fans would be surprised to know that he likes to watch cooking shows. He quickly adds that he watches football too. Lee's raspy vocal tone and distinct quality should take him to great heights in the music industry.
Crystal Bowersox seems to know herself well. That's quite a feat at only 24 years of age. The people of Elliston, Ohio, Crystal's hometown, must be bursting with pride. There will be lots of surprised fans if she isn't the Season 9 American Idol winner. Crystal believes in honest music that's lyrically rich. My favorite performance of hers to date was when she sang Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee." She hasn't given a bad delivery yet. Crystal thinks the hook that got her into the top 24 was when she pulled out her harmonica. It made her stand out and seem versatile. Personally, I think there's no question that her voice can stand on its own. The fact that she plays so many instruments is an asset. "Mama Sox" says that being on American Idol is a breeze compared to trying to juggle time with her son, boyfriend, and family. Crystal better get used to it-her career is on the verge of taking off big time.

Post a CommentThese are my 2 top picks for Idol this season, too! :)
I think Siobhan is in the mix as well. I love both Crystal and Lee. I worry that as the frontrunner, Crystal may not get the votes she needs. People may just think everyone is already voting for her so they try to "help" out another contestant by voting for them.
great job with this!!
I really like Crystal, but I am not bowled over by Lee. Siobahn is one of my favorites as well!
Hope you get a lot of hits on this one Karen!
I'd also like to add, I wasn't counting Siobhan's nor Crystal's off nights. I just count the majority of performances which show what they can do.
cont' That said, I realize now that there is no chance for anyone but Crystal to win it. But there are others just as deserving. This seasons winner was decided before it began by the media and Simon. oh well..
Crystal this, Crystal that. In fact people thought she was the winner before they even heard her sing about 6 weeks ago thanks to the news media plastering a thumb of her every where. Or even before they had heard other idols, their minds were made up. Now, that's just down right stupid. But *baaaa baaaa*, sheep will be sheep. At least, after watching all 9 seasons I always keep my rule of seeing ALL constants and hearing them at least 3 times before starting to choose favorites. Why? Because if you get your mind set on one, it's hard to change it. That said, it allowed me to objectively compare Crystal, Siobhan, Lee and others. Siobhan is definitely the most talented and her voice reminds me of Kelly C at times because they both took huge risks. Crystal looks a little like Kelly, and Simon mentioned she was like Kelly, but she's not really because she never takes a single risk in her less than one octave range. That said, I realize now that there is no chance for anyone b
Right now the talk is who is in at the end with Crystal. The only debate is if it will be Casey, Siobhan, Lee, or Andrew.
Dpdi in an interview today said that she thinks Crystal and Siobhan are two of the sweetest, special, most talented people she has ever met. Crystal spent the night with her to keep her company after elimination, and Siobhan was there in the morning.
Andrew is the best - I don't get all the hype for crystal at all......it is all about who american idol decides to promote and obviously they are promoting crystal all the way, but Andrew is talented and even if he doesn't become the AI at the end, he is still a star and will go far - GO ANDREW!
