Crystal Renn Walks the Catwalk for Zac Posen at Fashion Week

The plus-size heroine Crystal Renn recently walked the catwalk for Zac Posen's new Z Spoke collection at New York Fashion Week. The plus-size (for the fashion industry) model wore a pale yellow ruffled all-in-one outfit with appliqued flowers on the runway in Zac Posen's show.

The Miami-born Crystal Renn considers herself the perfect representative for the brand 'I got to know [Zac] and to hear him talk about it he gets a woman. He wants women to be able to fit [into his clothes] and to be able to buy them. They're making the clothes for my size and everything. This is how fashion should be.'

Renn was excited to finally be walking on the runway at New York Fashion Week, saying; 'I'm freaking out. Zac is one of the ones you want. Zac, Calvin and Marc are the big three. I booked one of my three'. Will Calvin and Marc be next? The plus-size beauty has garnered a lot of positive press lately and is a rising star in the fashion world.

Crystal Renn has appeared on international catwalks in the past. In February, she appeared in Mark Fast's groundbreaking show at LFW alongside other plus-sized models. Crystal Renn also appearance on the fashion catwalk for the Chanel Cruise collection in May, and she was photographed for Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld. One of her first catwalk appearances was for Jean Paul Gaultier's catwalk back in 2006, and recently Renn was cast as the face for his new A/W'10 ad campaign.

Renn's appearance on the catwalk has sparked hundreds of stories online. Much of the commentary surrounding the event consists of normal women asking the question, "Crystal Renn is plus sized?"The plus-size model barely misses the traditional model sizes and if you hadn't known she was a plus-size model she would have blended in with the other models in the Zac Posen show. Unfortunately instead of celebrating her slight curves and different body type, the makeup artists used makeup to contour her face so she appeared even thinner. Apparently plus-size is in, just not all the way. But we are still very happy for Crystal and hope she continues to take the industry by storm with her beautiful body and message!
