Crystals, Gems and Healing Stones

Crystals have been around for thousands of years and mankind has been using quartz crystals and gemstones to heal the sick. Healers,witch doctors soothsayers, prophets, therapists, even channellers either used them for divination and or for healing.

Crystals have been also used for protection or just for adornment and in fact Amber was I think the first crystal used for decoration. If you have seen an Amber crystal if you look closely at one you might find insects trapped inside them. Amber is found in stone age deposits as are some of the other crystals.

Neolithic people were accompanied to the next world by polished crystal mirrors which they used for seeing the future. To ancient people crystals were sacred gifts from mother earth. As time went on they retained their magical and spiritual qualities. Priests, medicine men, rulers and shamans wore the powerful gems as symbols of spiritual and temporal authority. Worn over the heart it would protect the high priest through immensely strong spiritual powers.

Egypt's rulers were buried with gems to conduct their souls to the other world. Amulets talisman etc. The living too had their amulets of power their protective talismans even love charms. In India in 400 BCE, a Sanskrit document laid down the astrological properties of gems and since then Indian astrologers have advised those struck with misfortune on which gem to wear to help the problem.

CRYSTALS SHAPES AND SIZES

Crystals come in many shapes and the size does not really matter at all each can give out the necessary energy you need. However a shape of a crystal has different effect to that of a cluster or a geode even when the same stone.

A LONG POINTED Crystal focuses the energy in a straight line. It transmits energy or draws it off, depending which way it is pointing. Shaped crystal wands or large natural crystals are often used in healing.

Geodes, which are ROUNDED and cave like stones, diffuse and contain the energy of the crystal. BALLS, natural or shaped emit energy in all directions equally. Used as "windows" they can transport energy from another time and place, past or future.

A double terminated crystal which is a crystal having POINTS AT BOTH ENDS radiates or absorbs energy at its extremities. Such crystals balance and integrate spirit or matter. Double terminations break old patterns and are useful in treating addictions. The can also help to develop telepathy.

Crystal CLUSTERS radiate the energy of the crystal to the surrounding environment. They are particularly useful for cleansing energy in a room, or cleansing other crystals.

EGG SHAPED crystals can be used over the body to detect and rebalance blockages. The pointed end can be used as a tool for therapies such as acupressure or reflexology.
