A body is found in a dumpster or one washed up on the beach. Somebody falls from a 30-story building, or a body is found in a burned out building. Has a crime been committed or was it a fluke accident? Did someone jump off of the roof or was he pushed? It is up to the experts from the "CSI" franchise to discover how someone died and the events that led up to that death.

The science behind the investigations is fascinating. From watching the evidence at the scene of the crime being collected to the final analysis of just how the bullet ripped apart the body and caused the death there is something new to be learned about science on every episode. It is fascinating just how the teams can work together and solve the mysteries that are presented each week.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" is based in Las Vegas, Nevada. With Marg Helgenberger

leading the cast as Catherine Willows, a single parent who works hard and occasionally has to fight the stigmas of her checkered past. The show has been on the air since 2000 and was originally led by Gil Grissom who is still missed by loyal fans of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." New episodes can be found on Wednesdays at 9:00pm ET on CBS.

It was 2002 when the second series in the CSI franchise drew the attention of loyal fans. "CSI: Miami," with its coastal beaches and tropical flavor is very different than the location shots of the original series. The South Florida team is lead by Horatio Caine played by David Caruso of NYPD Blue fame. Catch "CSI: Miami" on Saturday at 10:00pm ET on CBS.

Two years after we were introduced to "CSI: Miami," and four years after the franchise first began, the third series to feature Crime Scene Investigations set up shop in New York City. "CSI: New York" is lead by Gary Sinise and airs Thursdays at 9:00pm ET on CBS.

If you miss you just cannot get enough "CSI", you are in luck. Past seasons are available on DVD and CBS has an excellent website set up where you can play games, watch episodes and get the scoop on upcoming episodes. Check out CBS Primetime: CSI when you need a quick fix for your favorite "CSI" show.
