Cucumbers are the favorite veggie of many skincare and beauty enthusiasts, because of their high nutrient content and natural smoothing and softening properties. They are also an excellent natural cleanser, and their juice is incredibly good at removing oil and dirt from your skin as well. Cucumbers are a significant source of calcium, potassium, and vitamins A and K, making them a great, natural addition to any at-home skincare regimen!

Using the useful, versatile cucumber to keep your skin refreshed and healthy is even easier with the help of other natural ingredients. The honeydew melon, for instance, is a great addition to any at-home beauty recipe involving cucumbers. These melons share many of the same healthy characteristics of the cucumber, with some added goodies (like vitamin C) to make a double effective face mask that will give you soft, clean, rejuvenated skin.

For this face mask, you will need half of one fresh, small sized cucumber. Keep the skin and seeds on the cucumber, it's got lots of those nutrients and vitamins you need! You will also need a couple slices of de-skinned honeydew melon, and an egg white. In a food processor or a blender, add those three simple, natural ingredients. Wait until they form a pureed paste with a consistency that will be easy to massage into your face, and stop mixing.

To apply it to your face, simply use the pads of two fingers and massage in small, inward spirals and circles all over your face, starting from the area near your nose and being careful not to get it too close to your eyes. (Not that anything in this recipe would hurt your eyes, but you don't want to irritate them anyway.) If you happen to have a forehead area that gets particularly sweaty or can't hold makeup well, press this face mask into each and every crease in your forehead for the best results.

Leave this mask on for about 10 minutes. This will give the vitamins and nutrients enough time to do their work, while also letting the natural cleaning powers of the cucumber and melon soak up any oils and dirt that are clogging your pores. This mask will also be softening your skin for all ten minutes, giving you a smooth, radiant glow to your skin. Rinse this mask off with cool water and pat dry with a towel. Once you feel your skin, you'll instantly see why these ingredients are so popular in natural beauty and skincare!

An extra tip: If you are prone to blotching or uneven skin tone, try adding a teaspoon of honey to this face mask before you blend it all together. Have fun!
