Cuddle U Infant Support System Review

When my husband and I discovered we would be having our first child, we were elated. We'd discussed in the past that we'd like to breastfeed, and when she arrived, we had no problem whatsoever with breastfeeding. We did find a hang up, however. How in the world do you support the baby comfortably while feeding? We talked to fellow nursing moms, who suggested the Boppy nursing pillow system. But, we couldn't see spending the amount of money on a pillow that those ran. We got very lucky while shopping one day, when we came across the Cuddle U Infant Support System.

The Cuddle U Infant Support System is a unit that serves as a nursing aide and a baby support system as the baby gets a bit older. It's shaped like a big U, which wraps around the mother's body easily, and makes a perfect, comfortable cushion for the baby to nurse securely on. The baby can nurse from either breast with ease, without the worry of the baby falling or shifting too much. The Cuddle U also allows for the baby to simply be laid down on the pillow to nurse, which allows for freedom of the mother's arms while the baby gets their fill. It's firm, supportive and comfortable for both mother and child, and has surely been a lifesaver for me while nursing.

The Cuddle U also serves as a support for the baby as they begin to grow and get more mobile. The pillow has a secure, belt-like strap system in place that allows for the baby to sit supported as they learn to sit on their own. You can place the baby up against the pillow and secure the belt, and the baby cannot wiggle or tumble off the pillow. It's also a great aid while the baby learns to spend time on his or her tummy, as the child can lean on the pillow without being face down in the floor. The U shape of the Cuddle U is also ideal as your little one moves onto sitting up on their own, as the pillow wraps around them. Then, if they should tip over, they will hit the pillow instead of the floor, saving themselves the injury of hard floors.

Many of the Cuddle U systems come with a removable cover, making cleaning and maintenance a breeze. Mine did not come with one, but I've had no trouble keeping it clean, as spills or messes just wipe right off with a damp cloth.

I've greatly enjoyed the year I've been using the Cuddle U Infant Support System, and I look forward to passing it onto the next baby, as I know I'll get just as much use out of it as I've had with the first.
