Cuisinart Coffee on Demand 12 Cup Coffee Maker Review
The Cuisinart Coffee on Demand Coffee Offers a Great Value and Design
When my Braun coffee maker no longer worked I tried to find the perfect coffee maker for our family. After researching many different coffee maker brands and models, I narrowed my choice down between the Cuisinart Grind & Brew or the Cuisinart Coffee on Demand model. Lowe's carries both Cuisinart models. Both Cuisinart models are in the same price range. The Coffee on Demand 12 cup model costs $99.00 and the Grind and Brew varies in price from $99.00 - $169.00 depending on the exact model, there are several.
I decided to buy the Cuisinart Coffee on Demand model because of it's great features.
1. When you brew coffee there is no coffee pot. Instead of having a coffee pot, your coffee goes into a reservoir tank. When you are ready to fill your cup you simply put your coffee mug underneath and press the lever.
2. The Cuisinart Coffee on Demand features a permanent gold coffee filter. You can also use paper filters if you prefer something disposable.
3. You can easily program this model to start up to 24 hours in advance. You can also choose how long you want the coffee maker to stay on and warm your coffee. You can choose length up to 4 hours.
4. This coffee maker also uses a charcoal water filter. The charcoal water filter should be replaced every two months. The cost of replacement charcoal filters is $9.99 for two.
5. My favorite feature is the coffee gauge. At a glance you can check on the gauge how much coffee is remaining. It looks like a gas tank gauge with marks showing "E" for empty and "F" for full.
6. This coffee maker is extremely quiet while brewing coffee.
7. You can easily brew between 1 - 12 cups of coffee.
Another great feature is cleaning the coffee reservoir much easier than cleaning a traditional coffee pot. I always found it awkward to clean the bottom and sides of my Braun coffee pot.
The only two negative thing I can say about this coffee maker is that it's awkward to fill with water. The place that you pour the water into is a little small. After a few uses I did get accustomed to filling it. Also, this coffee maker is rather large and may not be good if you have a small kitchen or lack counter space. This model is 14 1/2 inches tall and 9 inches wide.
I purchased the Cuisinart Coffee on Demand at Lowe's for $99.00. You can also but this coffee maker at most major retail stores including Bed Bath and Beyond. If you have a Bed Bath and Beyond store near you, be sure to bring a 20% off coupon when you purchase. Using the 20%off coupon would make the coffee maker cost $81.00 plus tax.

Post a CommentThis product is terrible; leaks underneath as well as from spout where you pour coffee. I have owned it for seven months and finally got rid of it today. Concept is great; technology, not so much. I have inquired about the leaking problem directly to Cuisinart; they never responded. They really should stand behind their product if they are going to continue to sell a malfunctioning unit. There are many people with the same issue, so I'm guessing mine is the norm which is why I would not purchase another one.
