Cultwatch.Com: The Website Spiritually Abusive Churches Don't Want You to See

What You've Always Suspected but Your Church Leadership Has Never Admitted..

H. Gal
Cultwatch.com offers comprehensive, in depth information on how cults and spiritually abusive churches operate. Please understand, not all churches that exhibit signs or symptoms of spiritual abuse are actually spiritually abusive. Often times, these signs are not seen until you've been involved (sucked into) that particular church for awhile. Cultwatch.com was one of the first websites I ran across when researching cults and cult-like behavior.

If you are in a church and you are confused, if you've been hearing negative things about the Pastors, the church or the type of schooling the Pastor(s) have had, you need to understand first and foremost-it is always OK to look at objective, factual evidence and research things for yourself. It's OK to announce to the leadership that you won't be there for a Sunday or more (especially if this shunned upon, either from the pulpit or not) and to take some time for yourself. It's OK to separate yourself from the situation, gather information, and really critically think for yourself. It is OK. You have a brain. You don't have to bad mouth your Pastor, speak evil of anyone-just objectively look at it all. You don't need to make a scene as that can be damaging to the other members. Do other Pastors behave that way? Do other congregations conduct themselves this way? Do the expectations the Pastors or congregation have on you reasonable or do you feel there is a double standard in play, regardless of if you part of church leadership or not?

Cultwatch.com is a website spiritually abusive churches do not want you to see. They may even question why you are reading such thing when "The Spirit witnesses to you the truth." Many spiritually abusive churches know they've been called into question in the past and the last thing they want is congregants to learn the truth.

God's Word is true, every bit of it. What isn't true is some of the subtle ways it is twisted and taught. You may have even found yourself questioning but found yourself admonished for honestly thinking the Pastor(s) was or could be wrong on a matter or two. You may have even been told it's OK to ask the leadership questions on things that don't make sense to you yet find the reaction is opposite of what leadership said it was. God is God. Your church leaders, while should be respected, should never have to demand, assert it, publically directly, publically through messages of what happened to those who don't respect their Godly "covering", or assert it in any other way. Ye shall know them by their fruits...

Visit the site and read the links. Digest it. Pray, read your bible and give yourself a chance to take an honest objective look. It will take you some time. If you find yourself in this boat, you are not alone.

Spiritual abuse like other forms of abuse happens slowly and subtly over time. It's good to be aware of the signs and question things you don't understand.
