CUNY Takes Up More Space Downtown
Neighborhood: Fulton Ferry
Brooklyn, NY 11205
United States of America
Downtown Brooklyn really is becoming the next major college town with the kids spilling into DUMBO, Fulton Ferry, and the other surrounding neighborhoods.

City University of New York (CUNY) has just signed a lease on a very large space in the tower at 16 Court Street. The university, which is based in Manhattan with satellite campuses in Midwood and on Jay Street, must be planning on expanding even further with this new two-year lease. This isn't the first time CUNY has made its move into Brooklyn. The school also has a campus near the MetroTech Center.

This isn't the first time a big city college planted roots in Brooklyn. Downtown currently is home to St. Francis College, Packer Collegiate Institute, and Polytechnic University to name just a few.

Though details are scarce, rumor has it that the high rise location will be home for CUNY's Special Programs division.
