Cupcake Themed Birthday Party

If you are looking for a theme for your little girl's birthday party, you should consider throwing a cupcake themed birthday party. Everything from decorations to the cake can be included in the cupcake themed birthday party.

Invitations:

If you want to save money by creating your own invitations you can do so by tracing the shape of a cupcake on the type of paper that you want to use and writing in all of the party information. If you are not the crafty type and want to just buy invitations, there are several websites that offer cupcake party invitations such as www.etsy.com or www.jennibick.com.

Decorations:

Your decorations can be centered around the cupcake theme with cupcake table toppers. Balloons and streamers can be brightly colored that match the color theme that you choose. You can check your local party store to see if they carry cupcake themed party supplies, but if they do not you can find some on the internet at www.lorisparties.com or www.platesandnapkins.com.

Party Entertainment:

The main part of the party can be spent letting the children decorate their own cupcake. You can prepare ahead of time by baking enough cupcakes for all of the children that are invited. You might want to bake some extras in case a child drops their cupcake on the floor.

Have plenty of icing and toppings for the children to use. Some ideas are sprinkles, colored sugar, M & Ms, crushed cookies, gummy bears, or any other of your child's favorite candies. Separate the toppings into individual tiny paper or plastic cup so each child can have each topping.

As each child arrives give them their own child sized apron so that their clothes will stay neat and tell them they can keep the apron when they leave. These aprons can be found at your local craft store. Place one cupcake and one of each of the toppings on a paper plate for each child to be able to decorate their cupcake. This causes less confusion for children and makes cleanup a little easier. A plastic spoon and knife are also needed for every child.

Birthday Cake:

Have you favorite bakery make a cupcake themed birthday cake, or if you want to make the cake yourself, you can make a cupcake shaped birthday cake by using a giant cupcake pan by Wilton. This can be found at www.amazon.com.

These are just a few things that can help get your cupcake themed birthday party under way. You can be very creative when planning your cupcake themed birthday party and your child will cherish the memories of getting to decorate cupcakes with her friends!
