The first step in any good Valentines day craft is to gather your materials so you are not running around the house trying to find something before your glue dries.
For this Valentines project you will need the following supplies.
Wooden Bamboo Skewers
A roll of candy like life savers or mints with a hole in the center. If the candy wrapper is not red, red aluminum foil would also work well.
Red construction paper
White Glue
Scissors
Carefully poke your skewer through the rolled candy. If you need to, wrap the roll of candy in red aluminum foil or construction paper if it is not already red.
Cut out two hearts of the same size from a piece of construction paper. This is easiest (and most quickly) accomplished by folding over the piece of construction paper. Get your parents help with the scissors if you need the help.
Cut out "feathers" from the construction paper as well. The best way to describe this is to cut 1/2" strips in a piece of construction paper, and allow then cut the whole group of 'feathers' out so that they remain together. If that does not work, you can glue individual 'feathers' to the end of the arrow shaft.
Glue the two hearts together over the pointed side of the skewer, and glue them together.
Allow this Valentine to dry fully before giving it to the person of your dream. I would not suggest shooting this particular arrow from a bow
When you give it to the girl or the guy of your dreams, tell them the story of Cupid, and how that he is the Greek God of love.
If you have multiple people you want to give these Valentines to, you can make an arrow quiver out of construction paper very simply. Just fold the piece of paper into a cone, and glue it closed.
