I know the title may have captured your eye and you're probably wondering if it's possible. The truth is, it's actually very possible to curb your appetite by simply brushing your teeth. But with any method there comes some downfalls.

Curbing your appetite:

When you're feeling the need to snack reach for your tooth brush and minty toothpaste, the minty toothpaste helps to curb your appetite. Not only that most people will not feel the need to eat once their teeth are nice and clean.

Not only will the minty toothpaste help curb your appetite but the taste in your mouth will help aide in making food taste less appealing to you. Many people find that eating after brushing their teeth is very unpleasant.

It's healthy to start portion control so when you have consumed three quarters of the portions on your plates its healthy to stop. It takes time for the brain to signal to the stomach that it's full, in the meantime stop, push away your plate and brush your teeth. This will help you control your portions, avoid overeating, and prevent you from eating the last quarter portion of your food.

If you are unable to brush your teeth at the moment substituting minty gum is also a good way to curb over eating. The taste of mint helps alter the taste of food making it less palatable to ones taste buds.

Ensure that you are not over brushing your teeth though as this can damage your teeth causing tooth enamel damage and tooth sensitivity. If you are going to use the tooth brushing method to help curb your appetite avoid toothpastes that are abrasive or for whitening teeth. Use the minimal amount of toothpaste recommended by the brand you are using and follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
