The person needs to sit preferably in lotus position on the ground on a suitable mat. The best time to perform this pranayama is during the early morning hours from 6 am to 8 am with fully empty stomach and after completing all the morning rituals. The individual has to sit facing in East direction in fully straight and erect but in comfortable posture. The act should begin by taking deep and slow breaths concentrating on to your body and soul. Such five to ten deep breaths would isolate you from the physical world. Now, you are ready to start the exercise. Take in very deep and slow breath through both the nostrils and retain the air inside your lungs to maximum. Close both the nostrils firmly with your fingers of hand keeping yourmouth fully shut. Then, try to push the inside air out through both the ears forcefully. Such repetitive attempts would result in to releasing of air through both the ears, thus cleaning the passage of the ears. Then, release the fingers from your nostrils and exhale very slowly the remaining air out from your lungs. Repeat this exercise for around five to ten times everyday and you will notice that your hearing power would improve considerably over a period of around four to six weeks. I have myself observed that the hearing power of the individual starts improving within a week's time only. Some of the persons were even able to get rid of their hearing aids instruments permanently after practicing this unique pranayama exercise for around six to eight weeks. This exercise offers lot of other benefits also to our body. The most important of them all is the improvement in concentration of mind. The other benefits like curing cold, cough, head aches, and sinus can also be easily achieved through this pranayama. The students whose examinations are nearing can derive maximum benefits from this breathing exercise. The most vital aspect for getting the optimum benefits is to perform this exercise daily without fail, preferably at the same place in your house. The key also lies in practicing this pranayama at the same time every day as far as possible. If the time of performing this pranayama is changed frequently, the benefits may not be the optimum.
If it is not possible to perform this exercise in the early morning hours, it can also be done in the evening hours. However, make sure to perform it with completely empty stomach, after around four to five hours from lunch. There are no disadvantages of this exercise and it can be performed by all the individuals in all the age group having any types of diseases. However, it may be performed with slightly less force by the people in the age group of more than seventy five years. The young children in the age group of around eight years can also perform this exercise. If you are having some specific problems relating to ears, this exercise can also be performed more than once a day, for around two to three times a day at various timings. As I have myself undergone three yogic camps and as I am a certified yoga instructor, I am fully confident that this simple exercise would prove immensely helpful to all those persons suffering from the ear related problems. I would suggest all my AC readers and friends to try this simple exercise and derive maximum benefits for the body free of cost without any expenditure.
