Cure Your Sunburned Scalp!
Get Rid of Burned, Irritated Skin on Your Scalp with These Natural Remedies!
Another big problem with having a sunburn or other sun related damage on your head and scalp is that no remedies can be easily applied, and there are not many products on the market that specifically target sunburns on your head and scalp. But not to fear! There are lots of ways you can cure that sunburned scalp using common, natural things that can be found right in your own home!
Using Leaf Vegetables
Many green leafy vegetables contain vitamins and minerals that have been used for centuries to strengthen and heal damaged skin and hair on the head. Using a small head of lettuce, or even just a few big, thick, healthy leaves from a fresh head of lettuce, you can get some much needed relief from a sunburned scalp!
Simply boil the lettuce in some water, and drain the water from the vegetable in a small bowl. Add an ice cube to the water to cool it off before you apply! This is a very easy remedy to use on your scalp, because it's clear, doesn't smell like anything, and is a completely natural and inconspicuous way to cure that embarrassing sunburn beneath your hair. Just soak the liquid from the lettuce into your skin and leave it there until it dries. The liquid will soak into your hair and continue working even as it dries!
Using Vinegar
Vinegar is a great way to cure any sunburn, but when it's a sunburn on your scalp, people usually try other routes for relief. Vinegar can dry out your hair even more, and leave it smelling a little funky. Luckily, there are ways you can use certain vinegars to soothe and cure your sunburned scalp, without any of the negative side effects that would normally deter you from trying this method.
Using apple cider vinegar is your best bet. It's the most natural, and uses some of the natural agents found in another one of nature's great sunburn remedies; the apple! In a small spray bottle, add some apple cider vinegar, cold water, and a tiny bit of crushed dried basil. Shake the bottle well, and spray onto your hair and scalp, separating your hair every now and again to make sure the sunburn beneath your hair gets covered completely.
Using Milk and Yogurt
Milk and yogurt have always been used to ease the pain of a sunburn and use natural dairy enzymes to heal it completely. Unfortunately, just pouring some milk on your head isn't exactly something anyone would be too eager to try! There is a simple way you can use one of these dairy products to soothe and heal your sunburned scalp without doing something messy and too noticeable.
Use a small bottle that you have lying around, and put some of the shampoo of your choice inside. Add some whole milk, goat's milk, or thin original plain yogurt to the bottle and shake to mix. Since there are dairy products in this bottle, make sure you only make enough for one use, because the ingredients will go bad! Just wash your hair as normal, but use cool or cold water in the shower or bath. You will feel relieved, and you'll notice your sunburned scalp beginning to heal!
There are lots of other interesting and natural ways to cure those difficult burns on your head and scalp. Keep your eyes open, and remember; natural is always better!
