The first thing you have to do is completely stop writing, don't force it, don't think about it, just stop. If a writer depends on writing the sole income, find a second job. Perhaps working at that second job will make a writer realize that they love writing and it's their true calling. Taking a break from writing, for as long possible, always guarantees that the writer will come back stronger and fresher then before and with new topic to write about.
Another thing you can do is make a list of everything your interested in. Hobbies, sports, arts, or television shows, whatever floats your boat and gets your creative juices flowing. Keep a pad and pen with you at all times, a writer never knows when they're going to get a good idea of something to write about and the writer certainly doesn't want to forget it. Ideas come from all over the place, from nowhere, or from the littlest things in life. Just something a writer sees that they find interesting can open the gateway to thousands upon thousands of words.
Something that really gives a writer emotion is key, if it's emotionless garbage or drivel, then the writer will feel trapped, blocked and helpless. It will also show up in a writer's writing. If the writer is bored, then most likely the piece of work will be boring. Finding something that is a passion to the writer for them to write about is essential to a good piece of writing and a good reading experience for the reader.
So as writers, we must remember to not force it, choose topics that interest us, and keep that pad and pen in close proximity at all times. It can't be stressed enough how important it is to have a pad and pen at all times. Thousands upon thousands of words that could have been written down that the public could find as useful information could be forgotten. If you are experiencing writers block, follow these tips and you will be writing again in no time at all.
