Staring Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo, Blair Brown, Jasika Nicole, and John Noble, "Fringe" takes viewers on a ride through two parallel universes.
Since the series premiered on September 9, 2008 we have actually lived through the death of Walter Bishop's son Peter in what viewers see as our universe. When illness took Walter's son he stole his identical son from the parallel universe. "Fringe" leads us to believe that the theft of the second Peter has caused the parallel universe to fall apart.
With Special Agent Olivia Dunham passing back and forth from universe to universe we the viewers must keep our heads above water while viewing the show just to keep our perspective on the show at hand. There are times when I get a bit lost because of the issues and actors playing two roles. However, it is very easy for viewers to get emotionally involved in the actual show.
"Fringe" tugs at our heartstrings when we view poor Peter and his emotional dilemma having lived with the Walter he knows as his father but now this season he has discovered that he is from another place and time. He is emotionally lost and feels the tug from his place of origin.
We have the ability to view Olivia in the parallel universe living a life not her own. She does, however, feel out of place and speaks with Peter on many occasions completely convinced he is just a hallucination. What will save both universes? We the viewers have no idea, nor do we know where the plot will take us.
This strange secretive plot is what keeps us coming back to view the series over and over. Needing to know what, where, when and how the world will find completeness and survive. A good watch, as I said, for the science fiction lover however, not a show for those who do not enjoy these types of shows and because of this I suggest giving "Fringe" a try and if there is no great interest in the plot then seek other entertainment.
