The first image that comes to mind when you hear the words "pet cemetery" is more then likely something created in Hollywood. You might expect to see an over grown field that doubles as a pet cemetery, off the beaten path. Maybe even an old wooden sign with a arrow that once read "pet cemetery". I'm not saying pet cemeteries that look like they're straight out of a Stephen Kings novel don't exist. The question is, would you place a loved pet to rest in one? The outdated Hollywood image of pet cemeteries is quickly fading away, as more modern pet cemeteries are being developed.
At first glance Curlew Hills Pet Cemetery looks like any well kept cemetery. As a matter of fact, if you didn't read the sign or the grave markers, you would think it's a final resting place for humans. The grounds are well maintained, and the landscaping is picture perfect. A large gazebo rest in the center of these several acres, which burial services are performed at. Beautiful fountains invites peace, and tranquility. The grounds is divided into several sections, which if I may add are shared by gorgeous trees, and blooming shrubs. Sections such as "Heavens Playground" greets you with a hopscotch walkway, and a delightful bird bath. This section is reserved for the smaller family pets. The "Garden of Hero's" is another section of the gardens. This section is reserved for service animals, and K-9's. Other sections on the grounds include the "Garden of Companionship", "Garden of Angels", and many more.
Just like with any burial service, Curlew Hills has professional staff that will help you during your time of loss. For in-ground services they offer pet caskets, and grave markers. If you decide on cremation they offer a variety of urns, and niches for cremated remains. Perhaps, you just don't want to let go. Curlew Hills knows how important it is for some to be laid to rest with their family. This is why they offer a joint pet, and owner cremation section. Just like with any pre-paid family plot, your pet will be cremated and laid to rest until their owner joins them at a later date.
Pet burials, and pet cemeteries don't different very far from human funerals, and cemeteries. The cost of having a pet placed in an elaborate pet cemetery such as Curlew Hills can cost thousands of dollars depending on what you prefer. After all the old saying is "mans best friend", to some it is worth every penny.
