With all the bailout money the United States government is spending, there will have to be a serious increase in taxes. There are already several new taxes coming, and more proposals on the way. The extreme tobacco tax coming in April gives us an idea to the severity of the economic situation. The Federal alcohol tax that some groups are pushing for will most likely be just as harsh as the tobacco tax. It stands to reason that a lot more new taxes will be coming at us. We can also expect several existing taxes to be raised. I expect sales taxes and gasoline taxes to be raised in a short period of time. I am trying to keep track of all the new Federal taxes and proposals that I come across as time goes on. I will add to this list on a regular basis anything that pertains to new Federal tax changes. I am not forming an opinion of whether or not I agree with these taxes. I will include any notable new state taxes that may be of interest. Also included will be taxes that are being discussed or proposed . This list will be updated a few times each week, and if I miss something please feel free to contact me or leave a comment.
