Current Movie Projects Leonardo DiCaprio is Working On
What Movie Projects is Leonardo DiCaprio Currently Working On
The first, Shutter Island, a gripping thriller, saw Leonardo DiCaprio playing the part of a U.S. Marshall on the trail of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane.
The second, Inception, which had some amazing special effects, saw Leonardo DiCaprio playing a thief employed to steal secrets from the subconscious mind of people in a dream state.
Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't have any movies due for release in 2011, but for 2012 he does play the lead in what could become a classic drama movie, J.Edgar.
J. Edgar tells the story of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, a highly controversial figure, whose career was full of scandals. In addition, history has shown that he was a homosexual, and there are rumors that he was a cross dresser.
J. Edgar, is currently in pre-production, will star Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlize Theron and Armie Hammer, and directed by Clint Eastwood.
Interestingly enough, some sources, including The Wrap list this movie as being titled "Hoover" rather than J. Edgar. I guess we will have to wait and see what the final title is when the movie is released.
Not yet in production is another thriller, The Devil In The White City, based on the 2003 book by Erik Larson, and scheduled for release in 2013. Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Dr. Henry Howard Holmes, who was a 19th century serial killer.
The Devil In The White City will be produced by Appian Way and Double Feature Films, who have recently acquired the film rights to the book. As yet no director or other cast members have been announced.
The Playlist shows that amongst other upcoming projects that Leonardo DiCaprio may be involved in, are a remake of The Great Gatsby, and The Legacy Of Secrecy, which is about the assassination of JFK.
I think that fans of Leonardo DiCaprio, dramas and thrillers can rest assured that he has some more great movies in the pipeline.

Post a CommentI love Leo! Thanks for letting us know his upcoming projects. He picks very interesting ones.
DiCaprio has to be one of the best actors around. He still has the professional feel of Brad Pitt and amateurish nostalgia of Matt Damon (see Ocean's series for what I mean).. Wonder what that movie would've been like if DiCaprio was on it.
I like Leonardo and especially liked him in "Catch Me If You Can". I had no idea about J. Edgar Hoover either but I bet Leonardo will be great at that role.
Superb reporting on this. Well done!
Great job on this, Leo is adorable!
I love Leo...I'll watch whatever he's in !
I like Leo but I'm not big on thrillers :) Have a wonderful holiday, Tony. cheers :) (p.s. I may not be on much over the weekend - catch up on Monday!)
It's good to see Leonardo still working hard with his career. He seemed to drop out of favor for a while for no apparent reason...I think maybe too many people may have been jealous of him :)
I still need to see Inception!
Oh my goodness, who knew about J. Edgar? That sounds right up Leonardo's alley, He loves those controversial roles.
