Current Movie and Television Projects Tom Hanks is Working On
What Movie and Television Projects is Tom Hanks Currently Working On
Fans of Tom Hanks might assume that he is working on further war movies after his success with Saving Private Ryan, Band Of Brothers and The Pacific, but if that is what they are looking for, they might be sadly disappointed.
Tom Hanks always plays a great role, and in his next movie to make it to the big screen, Larry Crowne, which is scheduled for general release in 2011, I think we can expect another Tom Hanks classic.
In Larry Crowne, Tom Hanks plays a likeable team leader who has worked for a large company since he left the navy, and who suddenly finds himself out of work as the company downsizes. Larry decides to go back to college, and finds that he becomes part of a highly colorful community.
Tom Hanks is joined again by Julia Roberts, and a cast of other well known names, including Bryan Cranston, Pam Grier and Cedric The Entertainer.
Produced and directed by Tom Hanks, I think we can look forward to yet another winner in Larry Crowne.
Also in the pipeline for 2011 is a television production, Electric City, that was written by Tom Hanks and will be also directed and produced by him.
Electric City will be a new direction for Tom Hanks, being an animated sci-fi series that will be released on the internet as 20 three minute episodes.
The scenario for Electric City is the future, but it's far from the future that George Orwell might have imagined, in fact quite the opposite. As well as hoping that this series is a success, Tom Hanks is hoping that it might lead to a number of spin-offs.
In another break with tradition, the series Electric City will be produced by Mumbai based company Reliance, who provided significant financing for Steven Spielberg and Dream Works studios last year.
I think that fans of Tom Hanks can rest assured that he has some more great movies and television productions in the pipeline.
