Curse of the Bond Girl, Superman Death Sentence

Brave Woman Ignores Curse, Stars in Casino Royale

Eva Green, an acclaimed French actress, stars in the new release of Casino Royale. Director Martin Campbell had trouble finding a blonde Bond Girl. Actresses notoriously shy away from the role, convinced that it has certain stigma attached to it. In fact, it is popular belief that women who have starred has Bond Girls have been unable to find work after the Bond movies.
Yahoo! Buzz dispels the rumors however, listing past Bond Girls and subsequent roles in the showbiz industry.

Some actresses have dared to star in Bond films more than once. In fact, Eva Green herself has signed up for a sequel.

Another famous movie curse involves the Superman series. Actors starring in Superman have been known to drop dead or be doomed to wander the four corners of the earth without acting work, like Kirk Alyin who played Superman in 1940. George Reeves, officially dead by suicide, was the next victim. An account of his death is told in the recently released movie Hollywoodland, which I will not watch because it stars Ben Affleck. Christopher Reeve's brilliant carrier ended in tragedy, as is well known, but Brandon Routh, fresh star of Superman Returns, is still alive and well. Fingers crossed?

Of course Halle Berry has done great after being a Bond girl...so I guess there's an exception to every rule! :)

And of course, there's the singular evidence that a curse is indeed connected to Superman: After starring as Lois Lane and before hitting the comeback trail with Desperate Housewives, Teri Hatcher experienced the worst effects of the curse by being force to take a part in a commercial series in which she made football player and commentator Howie Long look like the smart one in their coupling! A fate worse than Margot Kidder's insanity, for sure, if not quite as bad as the deaths of Reeve and Reeves.

I hadn't heard these myths. Very interesting.
