My names Petalac and I have been cursed by Gout for most of my adult life.
My wife keeps telling me I must have done something bad in my former life to be sufferring like this. And i tell her if thats the case i must have been Attila The Hun because the pain i go through regularly is unbelievable.
Gout which is caused by painful needle sharp uric acid crystals which form and deposit in the joints and body cartilage, is one of the oldest diseases known to man.
The foods that cause gout were historically available only to the very rich. That's why gout was called "the disease of kings."
But in todays world nearly everyone can indulge in "rich" foods and alcohol. That's why over two million Americans suffer from gout - just like King Henry VIII.
Left untreated gout can lead to kidney disease and even death. It is a major risk factor in high blood pressure and coronary artery disease. It can also cause a stroke.
Over the years I have used prescription drugs, such as Colchicine,Indocid, arthrexin, zyloprim and others for some help, but the side effects such as stomach pain dizziness and nausea make it difficult for me to take regularly.
So after a lot of research on the web and talking to my rheumatologist. I have found out how to reduce my gout attacks naturally without taking drugs.
I have been following these steps now for 6 months and my attacks have reduced by over 60%.
So if your a gout sufferer, give it a try because it will change your quality of life.
1. Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. Water helps flush uric acid crystals from the body. You'll notice immediate relief within a few days.
2. Eat two daily servings low-fat dairy. Research participants who ate low-fat dairy showed 50% less problems.
3. Choose chicken over meat and seafood. Those who eat the most meat and seafood are 50% more likely to get gout and have flare-ups. But chicken has no negative effect.
4. Eat more fruit, vegetables and whole grains. Even vegetables high in purines DON'T increase the risk or symptoms.
5. Reach and maintain a healthy weight. Excess weight puts more stress on joints and increases hyperuricemia. But avoid fasting or rapid-weight-loss diets since they can increase uric acid levels in the blood.
6. Decrease or eliminate alcohol. Alcohol increases the risk of hyperuricemia because it increases blood levels of uric acid and interferes with its removal from the body.
7. Supplement with fish oil to reduce inflammation. Certain omega 3 fatty acids, only available in fish oil, are important nutrients and naturally reduce inflammation.
Good Luck and I hope this finds you in good health.
